Staff member Dylan has just returned from a trip over the Western Australia, and while not solely a fishing trip - he did manage to get some fishing done. Within an hour's drive from Perth CBD itself there is a good array of options for the keen fisherman, with many landbased. While away Dylan managed to get offshore to chase the mighty Samson fish, and while no real monsters were landed he did land a handful of fish in the 10 - 12kg range. Mechanical jigging in up to 110m of water with jigs in the 350g weight range was the best technique on the boat.
Dylan also fished the local estuaries where he got into some nice bream while fishing with Compleat Angler Nedlands staff member Ben, on both hardbodies and surface lures. Wading some flats in a local estuary also saw plenty of small yellowfin whiting hitting lures too - with most of the action in water around 20cm deep.
